Felt Felines and New Pixies

The Pocket Pixies wanted some feline companionship, so here are three little kitties, made from this simple and delightfult pattern by Runo:

Felt Kitties

She is an amazing dollmaker, and her blog is filled with many free patterns.  Please visit Runo's blog here at Nuno Life

More Pixies have come to play with Wren and Robin :-)

Nettie, for my sister's birthday.

Sparrow, in her blue jumper.

Finch, in her pretty lace-trimmed nightgown.

It is amazing how much fun can be had with a little bit of felt, floss, and yarn.

  2. Oooh Beth, my favorite is Finch she looks like an angel to me, and I so admire the felines. This is awesome. This is how I see them Nettie is humble, Sparrow looks frightened or surprised, and my favorite Finch looks like an angel. I'm working on some felt friends myself...I'm excited to finish and post them.

  8. Hi!
I've been follow you for a long time and I just ask where do you find wood bases for your faboulous dolls...! I'd like to know if there's a site where I could find too...
    Thank you so much. :)

  9. Hi Dona,

I use small wooden plaques and I get them from Michaels or Hobby Lobby. You might try to google 'wooden plaques' and see if there are some online sites. At Michaels they cost 59 cents apiece. The round ones are four inches in diameter.

    Enjoy!

  10. I came over to your blog after reading the comments from Nuno Life (where the cat pattern originated.) I like how you made yours stand up. Can you explain how you did that? I also REALLY love your dolls. I've spent at least an hour looking at your blog. You are very talented.

    1. Thank you very much for your kind words, Heather. To make the cat stand up, I cut a circle of felt for the bottom of the cat, and stitched the bottom of the body pieces to this circle, instead of just stitching the two body pieces together at the bottom. The tails on the two awake cats help them to balance standing up.

      Warm regards,

      Beth

    2. Thank you so much for replying! I am going to attempt to make a cat that stands up! I appreciate the explanation. I'd love to make darling little dolls like you do. If you ever start to sell your creations in an Etsy store, please let me know. leefamilee5 (at) gmail (dot) com
