Manga Eyes

Fiona McDonald introduced me to the real potential of painted eyes for knit and crochet.   Manga eyes are a variation of this idea.  I have a picture tutorial available on my Flickr site to show you how these were made; you can find it here;

Manga Eyes

Meantime, two Manga Spirits have arrived, without clothes, but they are happy to be here.  Meet Kellan and Aimee!

The pattern for the Knit Manga Spirit needs a bit more work; when that is done, the patterns for these two will be available here.

  1. I love the blue eyes with the blue hair on the Crocheted Manga Spirit. And I must say I also like her neck better. Guess it's a good thing that I crochet instead of knit! LOL They look to be an interesting and fun project, nevertheless.

  2. Hi Sandie, I agree; the neck on the knit doll still needs some work. If I can't make a neck spacer in knit that I like, think I'll just use the crochet one.

    1. They look great! I especially like the blue haired doll. :) Maybe I should try painting some eyes, I usually make my manga eyes with permanent marker. You completely beat me to the punch! I was going to put up a manga eye tutorial, but I guess there is no need now! lol XD

  4. Thank you, Joyce :-)

    Brea, there can never be too many tutorials, or alternative ways of doing something. By all means, post a tutorial! It is always fun to see how someone else has solved a problem.
