I hooked them all around, so her hair is pretty thick. For the Free Spirit doll with the pink hair, I just made loops around the outer edge of the wig cap, and left the rest of it as-is. It makes a really simple wig with little to go wrong.

There are several crochet patterns for Free Spirit clothing; they should be in the same place you found the pattern for the doll.

Regards,

BethBethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15174223079054928870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-647790914647612650.post-55501659800943507282013-11-20T12:42:35.630-05:002013-11-20T12:42:35.630-05:00Hi Vickie,

If you scroll further down the left side of the blog, you'll find "Tutorials," and one of them is specifically about wig making, which may help to answer your questions.

BethBethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15174223079054928870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-647790914647612650.post-51005737718174858222013-11-20T10:13:13.604-05:002013-11-20T10:13:13.604-05:00Hi Beth,

I finished the doll; now she just needs some clothes. I'm curious if you always just do the larks head loop once around the wig cap or if you sometimes add extra loops in strategic places?

Thanks again for sharing your wonderful work!

Vicki Treasurednotionshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03917075202455169420noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-647790914647612650.post-30200934515228429322013-11-20T09:23:13.658-05:002013-11-20T09:23:13.658-05:00So very sweet. :)So very sweet. :)Lois Evensenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11129343619065721588noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-647790914647612650.post-74365162574587307022013-11-20T02:50:33.684-05:002013-11-20T02:50:33.684-05:00Just love the outfit lovely colours!Just love the outfit lovely colours!Typstattinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12271407293785706668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-647790914647612650.post-16651662719435339062013-11-19T17:32:56.304-05:002013-11-19T17:32:56.304-05:00Knitting in the round is really addictive once you...Knitting in the round is really addictive once you master it, most of my knitting is done on The 2 Circular method , I prefer knitting in the round, with less seams to sew up and ends to weave in, leaves more time for my knitting! The dolls are so pretty, and your clothing adds so much to them! Great job dear friend, and thanks for sharing with all of us! ;o) Chiwaluvhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10814053987758155829noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-647790914647612650.post-70310351479260422692013-11-19T12:15:53.968-05:002013-11-19T12:15:53.968-05:00So swEEt! I have just made my first Free Spirit Doll, well actually, she's complete except for the wig. I'm making her for a dear friend who has red hair and loves red headed dolls. I'm using strands of a lovely wool combined with mohair. Can you tell me about two of your wigs? I'm interested in the back of them. The wig on Rose above seems to have two braids near her face and the back has long hair hanging down. Did you just loop the hair strands around the edges of the wig cap, or did you add more strands to the back of the wig cap too? If you add more strands, where do you place them? My other wig question is about your original Free Spirit doll with the fabulous pink hair. What does the back of her wig look like? Are their loops all down the back?

Once I get the wig finished, I need to make an outfit for her so she doesn't go to her new home naked as a jaybird. Could you point me to any crochet or sewing patterns that will fit her? I'm not skilled enought at knitting yet to be able to knit for her.

Thank you again for sharing your wonderful ideas and talents!

Vicki Treasurednotionshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03917075202455169420noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-647790914647612650.post-77456411371345414092013-11-19T09:21:27.952-05:002013-11-19T09:21:27.952-05:00Thank you for your good words, Joyce and Margaret!...Thank you for your good words, Joyce and Margaret!

BethBethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15174223079054928870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-647790914647612650.post-77855810208238521702013-11-19T06:34:52.353-05:002013-11-19T06:34:52.353-05:00So pretty in this dress.
