  1. That is a wonderful view. I am about to start pruning my roses so that I can get a lovely display like yours when it's our turn for spring.

  4. Hi Beth,
What a lovely thing to walk to, after a tough day. What are the white daisy flowers. I have shasta daisy's with large white flowers, I can't seem to find the smaller ones with the fine leaves. I would rather have flowers that retuen every year than flowers that die within days.
Hope your day is filled with all things percious to you.

    til next time,

    Connie

  5. Thank all of you for the good words; my summer flowers look their best right now; before they (and I) get worn out by the heat :-)

Connie, the little white daisy-like flowers are feverfew. They are perennial and a member of the chrysanthemum family. They are very loyal and come back year after year :-)

  6. Hi Beth, I just wanted to let you know how much I have enjoyed your posts and very creative ideas. I love to use felt and thought I was the only one around who did!! I have a tip to share with you since you are so generous with all your ideas on your blog. When I was growing up, my Mom used to buy me bucilla storybook ornament kits to make for the family Christmas tree. This was in the early 70's and my first experience of recycling. The instructions said to cut up the extra scraps left after cutting out the ornaments pieces to use for stuffing. It really gives the ornaments a little extra stability and it is free!! I use tubs with lids to cut up the extra scraps into colors families. I combine different reds together for instance from dark pink--red--burgandy. If I am making a snowman which is mainly white--I would stuff him with the scraps from cutting him out first--and then would use my white tub to fill him if I didn't have enough. Some felts are very dense and you could combine other colors--but I like to try and get it close to the main color the ornament is if I can. The lids are important, as this gets very static and will almost come out of the tub itself--so if it dumps--it goes everywhere easily. You can also use another piece of felt to pick up scraps. I mix wool & rayon felt with acrylic felt in my stuffing. I also use the large handle Fiskars scissors, because they remain sharp cutting out lots of felt and are easier on my hands over a period of cutting. Hope you find something helpful here!! Have a great 4th of July weekend Judy

  7. Hi Judy,

Thanks for the great idea! I hate throwing away even the tiniest scrap of wool felt; now I won't have to :-)
