Making Eyes at You

I just discovered how easy and fun it is to paint your own eyes! I purchased several packages of 12mm clear eyes from CR's Crafts, and used acrylic paint that I had on hand.

I even painted dots in one pair of eyes :-) I'm not at all adept with a paint brush, but if you use a very small brush and a small amount of paint, it is easy to paint your own eyes.

My thanks to Michelle at Suncatcher Eyes for her tips on how to paint your own.

  3. Yep! It is as easy as that. Paint the back with simple acrylic paint, and the front looks awesome.

Thank you, and I love your blog!

I'm attempting to follow it, but blogspot is being wonky at the moment.

I've never made any creatures like this before, but your blog is inspiring me to try... so I hope you won't hate if I have a question or two!!!!

  6. Hi Beth,
I'm still in the process of completing my doll, but just wanted to pass on to everyone that I used the empty socket of my rachet screw driver to press the back of the safety eyes in place. Be sure to put the eye through the eye whites, if used, and place through the completed head as directed, placing the front of the eye on something soft to protect it. Put the washer on the back of the eye, set it in place with a little hand pressure, and then use the rachet to set completely. Takes seconds. Carolyn
