Nadia says "I look like Audry Hepburn!"
This delightful hat pattern is from an Annie's Attic series entitled "Annie's Miniature Shoe Society." The primary pattern was for a fancy dress shoe, but included a hat and purse as accessories. These were published in 2000-2001 and are sadly out of print now. If you do a Google search on the series, you may find some still available.
I loved the hats and bags for these patterns, but didn't really have a doll that the hat would fit well. Sweet Pocket Spirits seem perfect; with 18 of these patterns, expect to see Pocket Spirits sporting fancy chapeaus in the future :-)
Enjoy the crochet!
Your dolls are so cute! I would gladly be willing to PAY you to make me a few. I can crochet but have never had the best of luck when it came to making dolls. If you are interested, please contact me. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHi Beth,
ReplyDelete"Well done", another wonderful creation.

Connie
Connie, thank you so much for your good words :-)
ReplyDeleteCharlotte, these are really easy dolls to make! All single crochet, and they make up quick. You might want to give it a go and see what happens :-)
Beth
so sweet...i love the idea of the dolls wearing hats.i look forward to seeing more! :) ~Anne~
ReplyDeleteThank-you Anne :-) I would never wear a hat like this; we can live out our style fantasies in our dolls!

She is beautiful. I love finding the old Annie's Attic out of print patterns. I wish they would provide more of their doll/toy patterns as e-patterns. Many of these old out of print patterns are so hard to find, but so wonderful to make.
ReplyDeleteBailey, I think Annie's Attic had a sort of Renaissance period from the mid to late 1990's with beautiful and innovative crochet patterns. I love them and thankfully have many of them :-)
ReplyDeleteBeth
Well you have done a wonderful job and I just love the hats cant wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteThank you, TypsTatting!
ReplyDeleteBeth
OOOOOH! How fancy. I really am enjoying how you cordinated the colors and design of the dress to go with the hat...how clever. You really do have an Eye for color and cordinating. You go girl!

Hi Beth! I am some what late to post here but I just love your beautiful crochet patterns. I have a question for you, being the talented crocheter you are I was wondering if you could come up with a pattern not exact but similar to the victorian crochet boot, hat, and purse from A. A.(miniature shoe society)since these books are so very hard to find. Thank you! Ann
ReplyDeleteHi Ann,
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for your kind words. It would be difficult to create a similar design without copying the original. You might keep you eye open on Amazon to see if they come up for sale, or possibly Ebay or Etsy. Or you might find a basic hat design that you can modify yourself for the look you want.
