Ready to travel

Claire says "I'm outta here!"

Claire has packed her bag, put on her hat, and is ready to leave the frozen Midwest.  But where will she go?  Five inches of snow in sunny Dallas?  Frostbite and freeze in the Deep South?  Maybe she'll head for the Caribbean and catch a cruise ship.

Claire's pretty hat and bag are from the Annie's Attic series "Annie's Miniature Shoe Society," and her mock smock dress is available here on this blog (it is the Christmas dress with cap sleeves and Spring colors).

Closeup of the mock smocking on the bodice.  I love the texture that post stitches give crochet :-)

I sure hope that Groundhog was right; I'm ready for Spring!

  2. my girls are outside in short sleeves and shorts today (it's in the 70s in the bay area). it has definitely felt like Spring here for the past few weeks. blossoms are even appearing! i wouldn't mind a bit more rain and some cold days.

Claire is adorable! I love her pout and how her eyes even coordinate with the gray in her clothing/accessories.

All your crochet work is just beautiful, as always.

  23. Hello! I just want to be sure i understand lol. You make the basic doll just plain or however, and you can make the clothes separate to actually put on the doll? So you can switch out between clothes and things?

  24. Hi Anonymous,

Yes! As a child I was always frustrated with dolls without removable clothing, so all of my dolls can be dressed and undressed; a lot more fun this way :-)

  28. Your dolls are to die for! My three year old was looking at your blog with me and wants me to make her some pocket spirits with fairy wings, a dollhouse like you made, clothes for her dolls, and "outside" I've got my work cut out for me now :) can't wait to get started! They have been put at the top of my project list

  30. I just found your BLOG. I love these little dolls. Oh how I wish I could crochet! Do you sell the finished dolls?

    Sandra

  31. Hi Sandra!

You know, crochet is not at all hard to learn, and these little dolls are made with just single crochet stitches. The outfits are a little more complicated, but not much.

Sometimes I do sell a doll; if I have one someone wants, and they aren't put off by the price :-) If you think you might be interested, you can email me at dollmaker46203 [at] gmail [dot] com.

But, I'd love for you to be able to make your own!
