Michelle, I used white cotton broadcloth that I ironed fusible interfacing to the back of, for the the eyes. I drew them in pencil and outlined them with either a Micron black pen or a black Sharpie fine felt pen. I painted the iris's with acrylic paint and a very small (size 2) shader brush. The eye shine was applied with a toothpick.
