Knit Shawl by Lionbrand

Took a bit of a break from dollmaking to knit this lovely shawl.  The pattern is free on the Lionbrand site: it is the Rosy Glen shawl.  You need to register to access the patterns on their site, but this is free, and the patterns are well worth it.

The yarn for this shawl is Lionbrand Amazing, and it is!  It self-stripes beautifully and has a lovely halo.  The yarn is 53% wool/ 47% acrylic.  Blocking is important to achieve the stated size.  I wanted a shawl slightly larger, so worked an extra set of repeats.

  2. This is lovely, Beth. I looked at the pattern and it sounds like something I want to try. What colorway did you use?

    1. Hi Dawn, I used the Aurora colorway; it is just scrumptious :-)

    2. Thanks! I looked at Wal-mart, but they were really limited in their colors. The one they had that I liked the best was Wildflower, but they only had one skein. Hmm...decisions.

    3. I got my shawl done, except for the blocking. Thanks so much for the inspiration. This was a delightful project. I loved watching the yarn change color and it was fun learning a new to me finishing technique.

  3. Beautiful colours! :) I love your crocheted dolls as well, expecially the ones with pointy ears - they remind me of my Pukifee BJD :)
    Big hugs from Sweden!
