Rose is ready for Christmas!

I have always thought that union suits, those red one-piece undergarments worn in the 1800's, were pretty cute on dolls.  Probably a pain to wear in real life, but dolls live uncomplicated lives and enjoy looking cute :-)

So I knitted up a red union suit for Rose to wear for Christmas, and topped it off with a Santa cap.  Here is the pattern:

We also had a lot of fun knitting up some other Christmas treats.  The stockings are made from a free pattern available on Jean Greenhowe's site; scroll down a bit, they are toward the bottom of the page:

The teddy's and rabbit are from a free pattern from Little Cotton Rabbits:

And the blanket was a free pattern from Jennifer Jackson on Ravelry (you need to register, but it is free!)

All of these are quick and easy to knit, and the dolls and young (or old) girls in your life will love them :-)

    I wanted to say thanks so much for sharing all your wonderful patterns Beth. I love your blog and visit when I can since finding it. I'm not a doll maker but am going to use some of your doll clothes patterns to dress some of my dolls. Your patterns are so cute :)
    I also have a couple of the Gingermelon patterns but haven't made them up yet. You have inspired me to get to and do it. I love your felt work, it's beautiful.

    Your dolls are always so amazing!! Are you on fb or Instagram? So I can follow you there also. I do have a doll question for you I want to try sewing little clothes for my crochet dolls. Do you have a suggestion of what pattern, website, or how to learn to make little skirts and jumpers? I see a lot of sites for AG dolls but the crochet dolls are a little smaller. thanks for your advice!!

      No, I am not on facebook or instagram; its all I can do to keep up with a blog and email!

      As for sewing for your crochet dolls, there are some simple patterns on this blog for making hankie dresses (see under Crochet Bleuette) and also attaching fabric skirts to a crochet bodice (see under Pocket Spirits and Crochet Bleutte). Also, there is a cloth doll here with a fabric wardrobe, the Prairie Flower doll. She is about the same size as Crochet Bleuette.

      The Christmas tree was a free pattern from Michaels, but I can't seem to find it either! Rats; it was one of my favorites :-(

      Sorry for the disappointment. You might try a google search for free crochet Christmas trees, or try www.crochetpatterncentral.com.

    HI Beth, It's Connie, I'm being lazy and not taking the time to log in but wanted to drop you a line to let you know the Micheals Crochet Christmas tree, is a broken link. I was trying to cheat and use your page to get the tree pattern instead of going through all my patterns on disks. I'll look it up.
