Lovely LiliPopo
I have enjoyed hand embroidery ever since I was a child, and it appears that it is still quite popular. There is something deeply satisfying about making small, even stitches that transform a piece of fabric into a miniature work of art.
The delightful spring fairy above is one of the many patterns available from LiliPopo, on Etsy. I enjoyed every stitch, and even purchased (finally!) a light box, to make the pattern transfer easier. My little embroidery is finished as a pillow, with a hanging tab on top to make it easier to display.
I have several more patterns, so I must get back to stitching!

Thank you so much, Margaret :-)

Lovely! And very current feeling, although those lazy daisy flowers remind me of pillow cases my mom embroidered. I love embroidery too, but don't do nearly enough of it.
ReplyDeleteDawn, I remember embroidering dish towels as a child, and loved it! Lazy daisies are some of my favorites :-)

The colours are lovely and the applique dress is great too.

Hi,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Janice, and I am 15 years old.
I have made a few dolls using your pattern, and have been asked to make a few to sell. Can I have your permission to sell the dolls that I make? I will direct anyone that asks to your blog if they want to see more.
Thank you,
Janice
If you'd like to see some pictures of the dolls I can send some through email.
Hi Janice!
DeleteAbsolutely you may use my patterns to make dolls to sell. Thank you so much for asking, and also for the designer credit, and directions back to here :-)
I'd love to see some of your dolls; my email is dollmaker46203@gmail.com.
Happy, happy dollmaking!
warmly,
Beth
How very pretty! I love embroidery, too, and have many pieces my Mother made. It is so good to be able to hold it in my hands and admire it knowing she held it in her hands so long while making it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!
Hugs,
Lois
Such a lovely thought, Lois. I have some needlepoint roses my Grandmother made; little jewels of her handwork.
DeleteHappy Easter!

Beth
