Public Service Announcement

If you have bookmarked some of my early tutorials that were picture tutorials on Flickr, they will disappear FOREVER on November 4.  The one tutorial that has probably been the most popular is the Waldorf Wig Making tutorial.  You may wish to download the images to your computer to save them.  I may, in the future, create PDF versions of these tutorials, as I have all the images on Dropbox, but don't really feel like doing it right now.

We'll see.  If there are several people who want/need a particular tutorial, I will create one.

Edit 10/12/2019:  Thanks to Dawn Smith, the wigmaking tutorial for Waldorf (or any) dolls has been turned into a .pdf file.  Now when you open it, it should allow you to download this file, instead of taking you to Flickr.  Yay, Dawn!  and thank you!!

    1. Hi Lorraine...because I am too cheap to pay $50 to keep a pro account! I haven't been on Flickr in almost a year, and it irks me that what was once free will now cost me. I don't mind the adds, so I didn't mind it when it free and add-filled, but now one can only keep 1000 images, and the rest are deleted! So, since I already pay for Dropbox, I'm letting the Flickr account go back to free, and only 1000 images.

I am seeing more of my friends on Facebook anyway, including you! So, this blog, and Facebook (and Ravelry) will be my social media homes.

      Thank you for stopping by!

      warmly,

      Beth.

  2. Fair enough, I understand. I have been paying for my subscription to Flickr for a long time, I don't think I even realised it was free! I still have my Ipernity account, but I haven't renewed it, so I only have a restricted amount of photos which are shown now. I can't decide what to do with it, so have left it in the mean time. I might be coming off FB by the end of the year....I have been thinking about doing so for a very long time, but at least I know I can still keep in touch with you via here and Ravelry if I do so.

    1. I would hate to see you leave Facebook, Lorraine; but with all of its issues, I can easily see why you would. I have my account so locked down that I only see what I want to see.

I hope that you are getting some relief from your new treatment protocol. Take care, my friend.

      warmly,

      Beth

  4. Mrs. Beth, I couldn’t be any sorrier to see you forced to leave Flickr. You have shared so many wonderful things with folks—things that are not shared freely so very often in America any longer. So many of us do not have the means to even buy a book to learn, and it’s sad that Yahoo’s greed is making free learning even more difficult for us all.

You have been a very generous lady and teacher. It makes me ill to think that all those PDF lessons may never be available again. But I am also very grateful that you can still offer so very much through your blog here and possibly Facebook. I wish that I could do more in helping others to learn, too—I have a great deal that I could share. Unfortunately, I have been bedridden (Lupus) for many years, now, and have not been able to do the wonderful things that you have done for so long.

Perhaps with help, I may yet offer a few free lessons in sewing, crochet, painting, drawing and sculpting. They are all so fun! If it is God’s Will, anything is possible—perhaps he can help me make this happen. I am very grateful that I am yet able to draw from my bed.

There are so many talented young folks who have no one to teach them. The schools keep cutting back more and more—except in sports, of course. It’s so sad to see Americans becoming more selfish and less willing to share.

God bless you most abundantly, Beth, for your goodness and selfless giving. Yours in the Holy Trinity,

    Charlotte ✝

    1. Charlotte, thank you for your lovely words. It really bugged me what Flickr decided to do, but I will continue to keep this blog, and all the free patterns here will stay free.

Should someone request one of the picture tutorials, I will make it a .PDF and offer it here.

And I pray that you will find peace and comfort; I know Lupus is a very difficult disease...be kind to yourself and do what you can with joy.

      warmly and with love,

      Beth
