Goodbye, sweet Charlie

Sweet companion in our lives from September 9, 2001 to November 20, 2014.  How hard it is to say goodbye.

  1. Yes, how hard indeed! I had two wonderful cat family members that I lost to old age 13 years ago but the are still with me and I think about them often and still miss them. They were a true joy in my life, and that is why it is so hard to say goodbye.

  7. It's sad... :( We have 5 cats, all of them were stray kittens, all of them are so adorable, so original, each of them has its own "personality"... I fear the moment when any of them leaves us. But I bet that Charlie had wonderful life with your family, the best life any cat could wish for. :)

  12. He had a white spot like my Rex cat did!! My son wanted a dog---that's why he had a dog name. I used to call him Reverand Rex. Hard to let go & kept looking for that tail coming around the corner. They give so much love & comfort. Hugs, Judy

  13. So sorry. I know what a heartbreak it is to lose your faithful companion. Their love is unconditional. I know he had a wonderful home with lots of snuggles.

    Much love, Joyce

  14. Judy, Petra, and Joyce, thank you so much for your heartfelt words. I do keep expecting to see him dash into the kitchen when I head that way, or jump up beside me when I want to knit.

    Indeed, their love is unconditional.

    warmly,

    Beth

  16. Beth, I am so sorry to hear about Charlie. I know how painful it is when they pass on. I loss my Rufus a few years ago and I still miss him very much. For such a small creature, they sure leave a big hole in your heart when they leave us. Hugs

  17. Lisa, this must be you, as I remember your Rufus...I even have a picture of him :-) And Jolie, thank you for your words of comfort. Love is certainly not bounded by size, or specie; we love our animal companions as our family.

  21. I'm very sorry. I know how you feel because we've always had pets at home: dogs and a cat, Tom (it looked like Sweet). It's incredible how much love and company they give us.

    kind regards from Isabel, Spain.

  22. I am so sorry for your loss. We love them so much and it is so difficult to let them go. Your kityt had a great life and he was loved. I lost two kitties this year but rather than be sad, I remember the love. Remember the love. Bless you all.

  26. Saw a comment about cats that is so true: You can never remove the love of a cat from your heart or their fur from your sofa. I think the fur might be their way of reminding us that they always are with us and are waiting for us on the other side.

  27. I am so very sorry. I lost my little guy, also, and my heart is with you. I had a conversation with my Higher Power and have let him/her know that, I expect my animals to be there, along with the rest of my family. I think we have an understanding.
