Yes, how hard indeed! I had two wonderful cat family members that I lost to old age 13 years ago but the are still with me and I think about them often and still miss them. They were a true joy in my life, and that is why it is so hard to say goodbye.
Oh, Beth! I´m so sorry to hear about Charlie! My cat died in 2008, after 18 wonderful years of living together, and I still miss her. A big hug from Germany! Sandra
It's sad... :( We have 5 cats, all of them were stray kittens, all of them are so adorable, so original, each of them has its own "personality"... I fear the moment when any of them leaves us. But I bet that Charlie had wonderful life with your family, the best life any cat could wish for. :)
He had a white spot like my Rex cat did!! My son wanted a dog---that's why he had a dog name. I used to call him Reverand Rex. Hard to let go & kept looking for that tail coming around the corner. They give so much love & comfort. Hugs, Judy
Judy, Petra, and Joyce, thank you so much for your heartfelt words. I do keep expecting to see him dash into the kitchen when I head that way, or jump up beside me when I want to knit.
Beth, I am so sorry to hear about Charlie. I know how painful it is when they pass on. I loss my Rufus a few years ago and I still miss him very much. For such a small creature, they sure leave a big hole in your heart when they leave us. Hugs
Lisa, this must be you, as I remember your Rufus...I even have a picture of him :-) And Jolie, thank you for your words of comfort. Love is certainly not bounded by size, or specie; we love our animal companions as our family.
I'm very sorry. I know how you feel because we've always had pets at home: dogs and a cat, Tom (it looked like Sweet). It's incredible how much love and company they give us.
I am so sorry for your loss. We love them so much and it is so difficult to let them go. Your kityt had a great life and he was loved. I lost two kitties this year but rather than be sad, I remember the love. Remember the love. Bless you all.
I am sorry for your loss... I too am the companion to cats and I am not looking forward their untimely ( however timely) demise. All of my love is sent to you ( along with purrs from my 8 furries!) Heidi
Hi Beth I did write on here but was redirected when I logged on and think it got lost last week... so sorry to hear your sad news, Charlie looked such a sweet Natured cat with eyes that haunt... you must be devistated, although I'm sure you have some well treasured memories of your time together, big hugs for you...xxx
Saw a comment about cats that is so true: You can never remove the love of a cat from your heart or their fur from your sofa. I think the fur might be their way of reminding us that they always are with us and are waiting for us on the other side.
I am so very sorry. I lost my little guy, also, and my heart is with you. I had a conversation with my Higher Power and have let him/her know that, I expect my animals to be there, along with the rest of my family. I think we have an understanding.
