Basic Clothing for Free Spirit

The first clothing patterns I'm going to upload for the Free Spirit Amigurumi doll are for two different bodices and underwear. With these basic patterns, you can make tops, pants, dresses, just about anything. The two bodice patterns have instructions for making combinations (a type of underwear that combines the top and bottom, hence the name).

These garments are all made with size 10 crochet thread and a size 5 or 6 steel hook. Enjoy making these outfits, and coming up with designs of your own :-)

  7. The doll and outfits are outstanding. Your crochet work is like art. Where do you get the cotton crochet yarn? The colors you used look so warm and comfy. They go together to make such adorable garments for the beautiful doll. THANKS for sharing! :o)

  8. Hi purplerose777!

I get a lot of my size 10 crochet cotton from Herrschners (www.yarncollection.com). Also, Michaels or Hobby Lobby may have some as well, although not as large a selection of colors.

Thank-you for your kind words :-)

  13. do you think the overall pattern will fit a 13" doll (the goodfellow doll)?

  14. Hi Rochelle,

I don't know what kind of body the goodfellow doll has, but if it is slender like Blythe I think it would. You would want to check the fit as you crochet; make sure the bodice fits well around the torso and that the crotch is not too short. Good luck!

  15. Thank you for your response. I just finished the bodice and i think it will be too big for the gf doll. i will redo because i really want to make this jumpsuit, it is just so cute! i do have a question, after bodice is done, the pattern says next to ch 35, is that from the bodice or should i finish off.

  16. Hi Rochelle,

After the bodice is done you finish off. The chain 35's are for the ties at the neck edge of the bodice. Hope this makes sense.

I am sorry, not speaking English usually I use an on-line translator. Still bravo and thank you for your great models.

  22. You are talented!. Thank you for share your patterns for this doll. I could not figure out the side to side bodice after the ch 35. What do I do with the ch 35 on each side? It did not look as nice as yours. You are good.

    1. The chain 35 on each side are the ties to close the back of the bodice. I did this instead of using buttons or snaps to close the back of the bodice.

      Warmly,
