Kate's Sweet Soozi-Q !

The wonderfully talented doll designer and doll maker, Kate Erbach, created this charming little Prairie Flower named Soozi-Q :-) I love her sweet smile and curly hair; what great yarn.

Such a sweet wardrobe too! Lovely eyelet camisole and undies, crochet flowers on a swingy dress, lovely felt boots, and a cute skirt, shirt, and felt jacket. What a lucky doll!

  2. Lois, Kate did a beautiful job with this pattern; I just want to hug her doll, which is what I think cloth dolls are all about :-)

Kate, it is a thrill to see this pattern worked in someone else's hand.

HI! I HOPE YOU ARE HAVING A GREAT DAY. MY DAY IS AWESOME. I HAVE JUST FINISHED ONE OF YOUR MINI FS DOLLS. AND IAM WORKING ON YOUR 9 1/2 INCH DOLL. I WAS LOOKING AT HER PICTURE, IT LOOKS LIKE SHE HAS EYELASHES. IF SO I WAS WONDERING IF YOU COULD PLEASE TELL ME, HOW TO MAKE THEM. OR AM I SEEING THINGS THAT ARE REALLY NOT THERE.LOL. I ALSO LIKE YOUR CLOTH DOLLS. BUT I AM STILL INTO YOUR FREE SPIRIT DOLLS RIGHT NOW, AND MY DAUGHTER SAW YOUR NATURE SPIRIT DOLLS. SHE WHEN CRAZY OVER ALL OF THEM,THEN SHE ASK ME TO MAKE ALL OF THEM FOR HER. SO I REALLY THINK IT WILL BE SOMETIME, BEFORE I CAN TRY TO MAKE THE CLOTH DOLLS. BUT I WILL ONE DAY. THANX FOR YOUR TIME. YOU HAVE A HAPPY AND SAFE DAY.

  5. Hi Patricia!

Good to hear your day is awesome :-) You can make simple eyelashes by using one strand of black embroidery floss and embroider straight stitches at the side of the eyes. Or if you make eyelids (like the Free Spirit dolls), you can work four sc in size 8 perle or size 10 crochet cotton in one loop of the chain stitches that make up the eyelid...work these in each ch of the eyelid.

I'm delighted you are so enjoying making these dolls; they have been a lot of fun for me as well!

  7. Diane,

Do you mean that you are now unable to mark a photo in flickr as a favorite? I know it has changed a bit, but I am still able to do this. You might want to drop the folks at flickr a note if you are having problems with this.

Cant' wait to see your latest alien!

  9. Hi Patricia,

I'm 53 and as much in love with making dolls now as I've ever been :-) What a hoot that the 'little' girl I thought you were referring to is 25! You could make her some Nature Spirits for Christmas; my sister still gets dolls from me for special occasions.

    Have a lovely day,

    Beth
