There she is again! Here is another great cowl pattern from Lionbrand. This is the Supernova Cowl, crocheted from Vanna's Choice Glamour. Glamour is a light sportweight yarn with a fine strand of metallic wrapped around the core yarn.
This cowl made up beautifully; I wish you could see the subtle sparkle the metallic gives this look. The cowl is 60 inches long, with the short ends crocheted or sewn together. This yields a lot of versatility. You can wear it long like a shawl, wrapped once or twice around your neck, or pulled up to cover your hair. The v-stitch gives a lot of drape. Simple and lovely to make, this will be a great Christmas gift :-)
Lovely!!!
ReplyDeletehugs,
rux
I'm also making a cowl at the moment- the lionbrand Time Out Cowl one, which also uses the V stitch.
ReplyDeleteYours is just lovely.

Hi Anna; yours looks a lot like mine, with a slightly thicker yarn. Love the Lionbrand site! I always find something great to make for Christmas gifts there :-)

That looks very very nice on you Beth and a cowl is such practical thing ( I don't know the word for it) :-)
ReplyDeleteHelen
Thank you, Helen. For cooler weather I think it would be pretty cozy, and versatile.

Hi, I really like your work. When I visited your blog, I wanted to learn English to understand everything and keep track of your creativity! Thank you for your needlework.

This is one of my fav yarns...have made gloves, scarves and wrist warmers with it, and hope to try some holiday socks....I think they would be awesome and love the extra stretch and bounce in the yarn.
ReplyDeleteThe cowl is really lovely....might need to try that one for myself!
Thank you so much, Carolyn :-)
ReplyDeleteCat, this was the first time I had used this yarn, and I love it too :-)
Beth
Lovely! I think I might have to make one of these for myself as soon as I finish the 3 button shawl I'm knitting for my Mom.
ReplyDeleteLove this one Beth! You can't go wrong with Navy. And you look so regal wearing it, too.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lyn. And thank you, Lisa. I love Navy, like another one of our friends does :-)
ReplyDeleteBeth
Beth, I've always loved making dolls, and I just recently discovered amigurumi--when I discovered your blog tonight, I felt like I died and went to heaven! Thank you for everything!!!

Thank you for your great words, Beajae :-)
ReplyDeleteBeth
Oh how lovely....perhaps you should gift it to yourself as it suits you perfectly!!! natalie jo
ReplyDeleteIt has been awhile Beth since I have stopped in and checked to see what is new with you and I can see that you have been keeping yourself quite busy. Love the cowl, love the color. Isn't Vanna Yarn one of the nicest ones to work with? I have never made anything with the sport weight, only the worsted weight, and it is so soft. I made a blanket with it and gave it to my mother. She loves it!
ReplyDeleteHi Susanne!
ReplyDeleteGlamour was lovely to crochet with, and made up beautifully. I love unstructured crochet for gifting :-) So glad you stopped by.
Beth
Hi there,
ReplyDeleteI just wrote a doll-inspiration-blog, one of your beautiful dolls is shown there too. Hope you are okay with that, if not, please let me know and I will remove it instandly.
Have a great weekend,
